Out Patient Department
Around Four hundred patients are receiving treatment and advice everyday through out out patient department on first come first serve basis. In addition of providing routine treatment, all relevant ophthalmic investigations and day surgery facilities are also available here.
Cataract Service
Cataract is the leading cause of blindness in the country. Vision loss due to cataract can be restored througth a simple surgical procedure. Cataract consultation and surgeries are major part of the activities of the hosptial. Phacoemulsification, small incision cataract surgeries and complicated cataracts are being done regularly by a group of well experienced surgeon through day care service.
Glaucoma Service
Glaucoma is a complex and silent catastrophic eye disease which can be managed by proper treatment. The glaucoma service at Chevron Eye Hospital is managed by a skilled and competent team. The clinic is equipped with the most advanced diagnostic equipments to diagnose glaucoma at a very early stage. The clinic also deals a large number of primary and secondary glaucoma patients referred from different parts of the country.
Vitreo-Retina Service
People with retinal diseases are increasing day by day. Some retinal diseases are common and easily manageable, while others are complex and difficult to diagnose and require complex treatment. In Chattogram Vitreo-Retinal service is not easily available. Considering this fact and to make the service easily available to the retinal patients, the Retina Department has been set up and equipped with modern equipments and facilities. The clinic is efficiently run and managed by skilled team.
Paediatric Service
The Paediatric Ophthalmology Department of Chevron Eye Hospital and Research Center is unique in providing comprehensive services to all children aged below 16 years and this is well recognized as one of the best Paediatric Ophthalmology service center in Chattoram. The childred eye diseases are being medically treated and operated through this clinic by skilled and dedicated medical and surgical team.
Orbit and Oculoplasty Service
A large number of patients with a variety of extra ocular disorders are seen every day at the clinic. Disorders related to eyelid, lacrimal system, orbital and periorbital region are dealt with by an efficient team effort. Related surgeries are perfromed in a dedicated well equipped opreation theatre.
Cornea Service
The Cornea department of the hospital is providing facilities to deal with corneal infections and disorders under the direct supervision of experienced and competent Ophthalmologist. Microscopic examination of scrapped tissue from corneal infection and culture sensitivity tests are performed at attached Chevron microbiology laboratory
Low Vision Service
The low vision clinic of Chevron Eye Hospital is providing services to the vision impaired people with a view to improve the quality of their life. The clinic offers vision enhancement devices and equipments to the low vision patients. The low vision clinic is managed by high skilled experts and technicians
Contact Lens Service
Contact Lens services are being provided to the patients with a view to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism and at the same time to educate the patients about its uses and care.
Neuro-Ophthalmology
Neuro-ophthalmology service deals with eye and vision problems related to the nervous system. This service provides diagnosis and treatment for diseases of the optic nerve, visual pathway, eye movement disorders, double vision and vision loss due to neurological causes. Patients are evaluated with necessary ophthalmic and neurological investigations for accurate diagnosis. The service is managed by experienced specialists to ensure proper treatment, preservation of vision and prevention of further complications
Operation Theatre
The operation theatre of Chevron Eye Hospital has been setup with well equipped 5 independent operating rooms and able to operate around 50 surgeries a day. There are dedicated operation theatres for cataract surgeries, retinal surgeries and extraocular disorder.
In Patient Facilities
Chevron Eye Hospital has also the facilities to admit patients in both ward and cabin. Trained nursing staff and mid-level eye care personnels takes care of the patients efficiently.
Outreach Programs
The hospital has already initiated outreach programs to extend eye care services to the under privileged people at the community level through community eye health service and school eye health clinic program. Cataract screening is done at community level at regular interval and patients with operable cataract are brought to the hospital where surgeries are performed at minimal or no cost.
